A Little Bit of This and That...

I've taken a few photos lately for upcoming ads and thought I'd share them. There will be a ton of new product for summer, so more and more photos of charms will be coming as I finish them.  I have a new "Live" line that will be similar to the January Sayings Line...I can't wait to show everyone!  The Sayings Line has been so popular that I will be adding new designs to that as well. Also, after a year "off" from resin (other than our earrings), we will be bringing resin back into our line for summer as well! 

Thanks to everyone who has requested photos for their store ads...I {LOVE} that you all believe in my line enough to advertise it!  Feel free to email me and I will send you high quality jpegs for your business use. We are also updating our marketing materials and will be providing artist cards with all orders beginning in June, as well as POP materials upon request.  

 

Mmmmmm...I love to camp and can't wait for the campfire and s'mores!

It's Love...

I {LOVE} my new camera lens. It came today and I ripped the box open like a Christmas present...rarely am I ever this excited about something, but this lens has had me drooling since the UPS man left 8 hours ago. I wish I had more time to play with it today, but here's what I did find time for...

This charm went through the washing machine the other day and survived. I figured it deserved to have it's picture taken...

Olivia was sweet enough to let me practice on her.  It's not her favorite thing to do but she humors her mama...

She had dance portraits tonight...she studies ballet, tap, and jazz, so I got to snap a couple photos of her with her friends.

One last thing I {LOVE} that gets me through my day:

 

I LOVE Spring!

It finally feels like spring might be here.  When you live in northern Minnesota, it sometimes seems as if spring will never come...and I mean NEVER! So when we get a nice day, we take advantage of it! My kids love being outside, and while our yard is a little worse for wear after a long, cold winter, no one seemed to mind.

I love my neighbor girls...Dru doesn't love me though, and shortly after I took this she threw herself on the ground and cried.   

Later in the afternoon I had even more fun taking photos of one of my favorite little girls, Kylie, and her mom and dad...it was a beautiful day but oh-so-cold {brrrrrr}...

Don't you just {LOVE} her little boots?? I was smitten...how perfect for St. Patrick's Day!

And you can see where she gets her good looks...just look at her parents!

I'm so excited...

I am sooo excited!  A couple weeks ago my favorite photo processing company had a {GREAT} sale on canvases...I had been waiting!  I had a couple ideas for photos I wanted to have put on canvas for my walls, and I had a lot of fun with Photoshop getting them ready...so I was a wee bit nervous that they wouldn't look the same when they arrived as they did when I finished playing with them. I was sooo happy yesterday when I opened all the boxes and saw how great they turned out!  Now I just have to decide where to hang them....

This was the one I really wasn't sure about...I started with a background and then inserted the photo and caption.  I love the canvas, I'm just not sure where to put it...I don't really have gray in my house, but I do have pale blue in my bedroom...maybe there?

I got this idea from Rialee Photography...a canvas of our new puppy, Lucy.  I hung that by our back door so that whenever we come and go we can see how cute she it! 

I created these 9 canvases to hang in a grid...I love looking at my kids and remembering what a great time we had at the beach house...they love the ocean. I can't wait for spring to come!

Baby it's cold outside...

Brrrr....it is COLD today in Minnesota!  Thank goodness my studio is warm and cozy...it's a perfect day to stay inside and work on orders.  Speaking of orders, I have to say a {HUGE} thank you to all the stores that have ordered this January! I am constantly amazed that during this recession we continue to grow. I feel so blessed that so many store owners trust me with their hard-earned dollars. 

Our new lines have done really well at all the markets so far...I can't wait to show you what I'm cooking up for this summer!  It is going to be {BIG}!  And FUN!  And of course I'll give you all a sneak peek...

I love these large silhouette baubles...they are VERY Jennifer Dahl Designs...vintage-inspired and neutral...perfect to wear with anything.  They look great paired with our freshwater pearl drops, and with 21 different designs to choose from there is something for everyone (although after the Saints win on Sunday over my home team the VIKINGS, I'm not as fond of the fleur-de-lis! Ah, who am I kidding - I'm rooting for the Saints in the Super Bowl!  Gotta love an underdog.) 

  

It is a gorgeous {but COLD} day in Minnesota today, not unlike the other day when we awoke to the prettiest blanket of frost I have ever seen.  I grabbed my camera and headed off on a long walk to snap a few photos and enjoy life. Here are a few of my favorites...

Handmade in the Minnesota...with love

Most days I absolutely {love} what I do.  I think I am the most blessed mom in the world to be able to work from home and spend time with my three babies.  I'm proud how far we have come, and I'm especially proud of the wonderful women that work for me.  I couldn't do it without them, and when I am tired of work or overwhelmed they keep me going. 

 

Every piece of jewelry we make is handmade in Minnesota.  From start to finish, we don't outsource a single piece.  And that makes me {happy}.  I know that I could find someone in China or Taiwan to manufacture my pieces cheaper.  I would probably make more money, and I could probably lower my prices a little bit, but I really believe that keeping jobs in our communities is important.   I also never have to worry about lead in my jewelry, or not getting product to stores on time because of production delays in another country.  I have complete control, and that is how I {like} it.

 

Jennifer Dahl Designs employs a number of local women, from stay-at-home moms to teenagers in need of a part time job, and I will remain committed to keeping our products {100%} handmade.  One of my most {loyal} employees isn't really an employee...but her mama is {while at the same time being a stay-at-home-mom-full-time-student-foiler-extrordanaire!}  Here she is "helping" her mama tape some charms for an order:

 

 
  

I love that what I do allows her to be home with this gorgeous little girl...

She even has her own little pink scissors...it makes me {smile}.  It makes me never want to outsource my production to another country.

A New Year...

It's a new year at Jennifer Dahl Designs and I am so excited for what {2010} has in 

store for us!  We have many new designs and styles that I know will be fun, but my 

absolute {FAVORITE} is this one {in case you are wondering, there are many more 

words/sayings to choose from!}:

It's such a simple reminder to all of us that the moments we cherish most aren't always

the big events in our lives...often times the best memories are made in the ordinary, everyday

times when we aren't always paying attention.  My resolution for 2010 is to pay

attention to the little things...which leads to my {next} very favorite design for 2010

were taken last month on Cocoa Beach, where we were escaping the frozen tundra of 

Minnesota {-10 below 0 today...brrrr!}
